Barack Obama

I believe that Barack Obama should win the 2008 Presidential Election because of his views on the war in Iraq, his plan regarding foreign relations, and his plans for our economy. The first reason I support Obama is for his views on the war in Iraq, which I believe our troops should be withdrawn from. If Obama is elected, he will withdraw our troops within sixteen months. On the other hand, if John McCain is elected, our troops will remain in Iraq. The second reason I support Obama is for his plan regarding foreign relations, which are currently in worse shape than ever before. If Obama is elected President of the United States, he will reestablish our foreign affairs and reach out to world leaders who have been overlooked in the past. Obama also has the support of European countries, which would be more willing to form better relationships with the United States if Obama is elected. The third reason I support Obama is for his plans for our downhill economy. If Obama is elected President of the United States, he will lower taxes and create jobs. McCain, however, will continue with President Bush’s economic plans, which obviously are not improving our economy. In conclusion, I believe that Barack Obama is the “best man for the job” because he will work to bring America out of our greatest problems.

Election 2008
This election in November I would vote for Barak Obama for three reasons, his views on the War in Iraq, energy and environment, and immigration. First off I agree that Obama should pull all troops out within 16 months of his election, John McCain however, vows to keep our troops in Iraq until they have established a democratic government which could take many more years and another giant some of money. I believe in Obama because after being in Iraq for 5 years we haven’t made that much progress in helping the Iraqi government establish a democracy. The only thing going on is more troops dying for something that will take much more time and money than we can afford to use; also the Iraqi people want the U.S. troops out of Iraq. The U.S. has put close to 2.7 trillion dollars into the war only to make a small difference in the Iraqi government. Second I believe in Obama’s views on our energy crisis and our dependence on oil destroying our environment. I agree with Obama that we need to wean ourselves off foreign oil and oil in general. He wants to get at least one million plug-in hybrid cars on the road by 2015, the cars he says should be made in the country to promote new jobs. He also wants to increase fuel efficient standards of cars in America. He wants to create an economy-wide cap-and-trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050. He ensures that by 2012, 10 percent of our electricity will come from clean fuels and 25 percent by 2025. He ensures more than 5 million new jobs by investing 150 billion over the next ten year on alternate energy. Lastly I will vote for Barak Obama because of his views on illegal immigration into the U.S.. The number of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. has increased more than 40 percent since 2000. Every year, more than a half a million people come illegally or illegally overstay their visas. He also says that the immigration bureau is broken and overwhelmed by the rise of illegal immigrants in the past 8 years. He also said despite there being sevenfold increase in recent years, immigration raids only netted 3,600 arrests in 2006 and have placed all the burdens of a dysfunctional system onto immigrant families. Obama vows to increase our border security and fix our immigration system. He also supports the system in witch you have to pay a fine, learn English, and go back to the border for the chance to become a citizen. He also believes we need to promote economic development in Mexico to help slow immigration. Obama also proposed to create a system so employers have to verify that their employees are legally eligible to work in the U.S.. In conclusion those are only some of the reasons why I would vote for Barak Obama and I hope to change who you vote for this legendary election also because we need change in the Whitehouse or I believe we will relive the last 8 years of what we saw in the Whitehouse with President Bush.

I think Barack Obama should win the 2008 election for the following three reasons: the economy, the war in Iraq, and a better choice in a vice president. Obama's plans for the economy states that he will lower taxes so people will spend more to get the economy going. Also Obama will give more chances for smaller buisnesses to sprout by putting a tax cut on them. On the other hand McCain is with Bush on our economy and as most know the economy has been slow. A second reason is the troop withdrawal in Iraq. Obama has generated a sixteen month plan that will withdraw our troops and send them back home to their families. On the contrary McCain wants to keep the troops in Iraq with no plan while the troops and their famalies suffer. The final reason is Obama's choice of Joe Biden for his vice presidential candidate. Biden has worked for Congress for more than twenty years which shows his experience in government. On the republican side McCain chose an inexperienced governor named Sarah Palin. Palin has only been governor of Alaska for two years, and has five children. In conclusion McCain has made bad choices in the economy, Iraq, and his choice in vice president. However Obama has made good changes in all three listings which would make him a good president.

Election 2008

I think that Barack Obama should win the presidential election in November because his view on the war in Iraq, his plan for our economy, and his plan for a healthier America. First, I agree with Obama on taking the troops out of Iraq within the next 16 months if he is elected president. Unlike John McCain, who wants them to stay in Iraq. If the troops stay no one knows how long it will be until they come home and this will also require more money. I believe Obama is right on this situation because we are not gaining anything by being in Iraq. We are only losing lives. Secondly, Obama has a “New Energy for America” plan. This includes saving more oil than we are currently importing from the Middle East and Venezuela, providing some relief to Americans facing pain at the pump, getting at least 1 million plug-in hybrid cars on the road by 2015, ensuring 10 percent of our electricity comes from renewable sources by 2012 and 25 percent by 2025. His plans for saving more oil are to increase fuel economy standards and “use it or lose it”. Use it or lose it is a plan that will require oil companies to drill in the land that they have but they aren’t using. To prevent the pain at pump Obama will close all loopholes and stop traders from getting more money, while driving up oil prices. Lastly, Obama has a plan for a healthier America. His plan begins by covering every American. For people who already have health care the only thing that will change is the amount of money you spend. Prices have risen four times faster than wages in the past six years. At least 46 million Americans lack health insurance. Obama guarantees eligibility and no one will be turned away from any insurance plan because of illness. There will be affordable premiums, deductibles and co-pays. He will require that all children have health care coverage. People up to the age of 25 will be covered under their parents plan. Finally, I believe the Barack Obama will be the best selection to become president. His plans will make America a better place for all citizens.

The Next President

If I could vote in the next election, I would cast my ballot for Senator John McCain because he has more experience in the government, he better understands the war in Iraq, and he wants to decrease the United States dependence on foreign oil. First, after graduating from the United States Naval Academy, McCain served as a navy pilot in the Vietnam War. He was tortured as a prisoner of war and received many naval honors such as the Purple Heart. In 1982, he was elected to the House of Representatives and has served in the United States Senate from 1986 to present. Next, McCain has a better understanding of the situation in Iraq and will finish the job. He wants to establish a stable democratic state in Iraq so the $600 billion that the United States has already spent on the war does not go to waste. McCain believes that the Iraqi government should use its budget surplus to employ Iraqis to rebuild the country’s infrastructure. Lastly, McCain wants to lessen the United States dependence on foreign oil by allowing off shore drilling. He supports development of new technology such as hybrids and electric cars. This would in turn reduce automobile emissions and create a cleaner environment. In conclusion, Senator McCain’s position on energy, foreign policy, and his experience in government service makes him the better candidate for the next president.

Who am I For?
I am an Obama supporter not only because I lean towards Democrat but because America needs CHANGE such as bringing troops home from Iraq, not going to war with Iran, and civil union. Obama promises that when he becomes president he will bring troops home from Iraq within 16 months while McCain promises to use our troops as long as necessary and build on recent gains. I have no family members that are fighting in the war but I know that the families that do would like to see their family and friends again. McCain talks about our “Recent Gains” when the truth is that there are none because when you look at Afghanistan’s history they have been conquered so many times that it will take much more effort to fix Afghanistan and America can not do it that can only be done by the people of Afghanistan over time. Personally I really do not want McCain to become president because he said that he will go to war with Iran, this is bad for both Iran and America. America will face a financial downfall and Russia will stop being our ally and go to the aid of Iran. It is even worse for Iran because they do not have as many troops as America does and they have never had a terrorist who has done something to America for example Iraq had Saddam, Afghanistan had Osama, but who does Iran have? My third reason for supporting Obama is because he is for civil union (gay marriage). I am for gay marriage because I believe that is a right that anyone who is gay should have. While McCain on the other hand will let Supreme Court pass a law that does not allow gay marriage and will arrest anyone who is in a gay marriage. Obama is a truly inspiring candidate and although he may not have that much experience at least he does not have the wrong experience, like McCain.

There are two presidential cadets running this fall, Senator McCain with years of experience and Senator Obama with the promise of change. With many challenges ahead for whoever takes office the people want to know what these men will do. For the problems with the war in Iraq , their solutions are as different as they are. McCain wants to keep the troops there until the “job” is done , while Obama says he will have the troops home in the next 16 mouths. The candidates also have their own ways to fix other problems such as health care, immigration and the economy. Even though McCain has more experience, I feel that change is needed and Senator Obama can bring that change.

I have neither given nor received any information on this test.

If I could vote I would vote for Barack Obama. I would vote for him because of his promise of change, he would get the troops out of Iraq, and because I do not like McCain. I feel Obama will make a great presient.
Obama promises change and right now that is exactly what America needs. An example is health care and the soaring gas prices. Obama says that McCain will be another Bush and agree with him. Ninety percent of the time McCain agrees with Bush. Obama wants higher social security taxes because many people are retiring and getting no social security.
Obama plans to have the troops out in about sixteen months, but McCain would take almost the whole four years to get the troops out of Iraq. The Iraq war has costed over 4,000 lives and $600 billion. The Taliban is also gaining strength. Now U.S. soldiers have a higher risk of being killed in Afghanistan than in Iraq.
I do not like McCain because he is Republican and I am a Democrat. Secondly I feel as if McCain will be another Bush. McCain is also very old is seventy-two years old already. He would be the oldest man to be inaugurated. McCain also wants America to go to war with Iran which would just be more of an unnecessary problem for America.
If Obama wins this presidential election I feel as if this will be good. Gas prices should go down, the troops will be out of Iraq, and the economy should be much better than where Bush left it.

In the 2008 election, if I could vote I would vote for John McCain because of four main reasons. The first reason I would vote for him is because John McCain is not the same person as
George W. Bush, like people say. He pushes for a more aggressive take on the climate change
and global warming to help save the planet. He set a goal that by 2050, the country’s carbon
emissions will be sixty percent below than that emitted in 1990. He also disagrees with President
Bush on the issue of torture interrogation tactics used on terrorist suspects. The second reason I
would vote for John McCain is because he vows to stay in Iraq as long as necessary, but he says
most of the troops would be out by the end of his term. I think we need to stay in Iraq in order to
keep peace and prevent terrorists from invading our country, but I also agree that we need to
eventually pull troops out of Iraq and let our troops come home. The third reason is because John
McCain is pro-life. He believes that abortion should be banned with exceptions for rape, incest,
and life of the woman. I agree with him on that foster care and adoption should be encouraged. I
think abortion is morally wrong because it is taking a life from an innocent person. The forth
reason I would vote McCain is because he is a war veteran and has years of experience. He
served in the Vietnam war and was a prisoner of war for five years. He also has been involved in
the government since 1982. I believe that Senator Barack Obama is a great leader, but I think
Senator John McCain would be the best person to lead our country at the time.

John McCain
If I could vote I would vote for John McCain because I agree with him that we should increase our offshore drilling, continue fighting the war in Iraq, and continue lower taxes and reduce wasteful spending. The first reason I would vote for John McCain is that he will decrease the amount of foreign oil and increase the amount of offshore drilling in the US. Increasing the amount of offshore drilling in the US will help us lower the prices of gas for our cars that depend on it. I think that McCain will really help our country with his idea of offshore drilling. The next reason why I would vote for McCain is that he will continue fighting in Iraq until most of the issues are solved and everything gets running smoothly again. I believe that we cannot leave in the amount of time that Barack Obama wants to have the troops removed. If Barack Obama removes the troops I believe that the problem will not be solved and that we will have to go back to Iraq and fight again. The last reason why I would vote for John McCain is that he will keep the taxes low and reduce wasteful spending. Unlike Barack Obama, John McCain is going to keep the taxes low and affordable for the citizens of the United States of America. I believe that when you reduce the taxes and reduce wasteful spending will help our economy. I believe that John McCain will win the election and lead our country for 4-8 years and make our country back to the way it should be.

Barack Obama

For the upcoming election, I have decided to root for Barack Obama due to his views on the Iraq, his good attitude for change, and his choice of Joe Biden for vice president. To me, the most important topic of the upcoming election would be the war. This was very difficult for me because I was not sure if we take out to troops to protect them, or that if we did take them out all lives that were lost will have gone to waste. I finally decided that we should take them out. If we don't draw out of Iraq soon, we will lose even more money, which would cause higher taxes. The next reason is Obama's good attitude for change. He is obviously open to new ideas, such as becoming the first black president. This is very important if America wants to be successful in the future. The final reason I would vote for Obama is his choice of vice president. After doing some research, I discovered that he is very experienced, and I think he too can help this country. In conclusion, I would vote for Barack Obama because he seems like he could really help this country.
